Okay, letโ€™s talk engagement photo locations, because this is one of those things that feels small but actually makes a huge difference.

If we were sitting across from each other grabbing coffee and you asked me where I love taking engagement photos in Macon, these are the three places Iโ€™d tell you about every single time. No overthinking. No trendy-for-five-minutes spots. Just locations that photograph beautifully and feel like you.

As a Macon, Georgia engagement photographer, these are my tried-and-true favorites.

Wesleyan College

Wesleyan is timeless in the best way. Itโ€™s classic, quiet, and always makes couples relax the second we start walking.

Why I love it:

  • The architecture is beautiful without stealing the spotlight
  • The light is soft (especially in winter and early spring)
  • We can get multiple looks without hopping in the car

If you want engagement photos that feel romantic, elevated, and like theyโ€™ll still look amazing 30 years from now, Wesleyan is always a yes.

Jackson Springs

Jackson Springs feels like one of Maconโ€™s best-kept secrets. Itโ€™s cozy, natural, and perfect if you want your photos to feel warm and easy.

Why it works so well:

  • Itโ€™s quiet and low-pressure
  • The greenery is beautiful without trying too hard
  • Itโ€™s great for movement, laughing, and just being yourselves

This is one of my go-to spots for couples who say, โ€œWe just want it to feel natural.โ€

Downtown Macon

Downtown Macon is for couples who want a little edge and a lot of personality. Brick walls, old buildings, great texturesโ€”it brings so much character into a session.

Why couples love downtown:

  • Tons of variety in a small area
  • Perfect for outfit changes
  • Photos feel confident, fun, and very you

If you want engagement photos that feel stylish, modern, and full of life, downtown is the move.

Soโ€ฆ Which Oneโ€™s Right for You?

Hereโ€™s the thing, thereโ€™s no wrong choice. It really comes down to how you want your engagement photos to feel.

  • Romantic and timeless โ†’ Wesleyan
  • Natural and laid-back โ†’ Jackson Springs
  • Bold and personality-filled โ†’ Downtown Macon

And if youโ€™re stuck? Thatโ€™s literally what Iโ€™m here for.

If youโ€™re planning engagement photos in Macon or Middle Georgia and want help picking a location that fits your story, letโ€™s talk it through and make it fun, not stressful.

Ready when you are. If youโ€™re recently engaged and dreaming about photos that feel natural, timeless, and very you, Iโ€™d love to help you plan an engagement session that sets the tone for your entire wedding season. Reach out here to start the conversation, I canโ€™t wait to celebrate this season with you.

Top Three Engagement Photo Locations in Macon, Georgia

Romantic Engagement Session Jackson Springs

Jackson Springs Park in Macon, Georgia, is a beautiful location for an engagement photoshoot. With its lush greenery, sparkling waters, and charming walking paths, this park is the perfect backdrop for capturing the love and joy of a couple in love. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the future Howard’s engagement session at Jackson Springs Park, and it was an absolute delight. We finished the session off at local garden that was featured in Macon garden tour.

Stay Golden.

The couple, Julia and Jonathan, were a joy to work with. They were set up by Jonathan’s brother, such a great matchmaker. They both have a love for the outdoors and wanted their engagement photos to reflect that, plus we needed a cute place to capture their pups. Talk about Golden obsessed. Obviously, Jackson Springs Park was the perfect choice for their photoshoot because it offered the perfect mix of natural beauty and serene atmosphere.

We started our session in the late afternoon, just as the sun was starting to set. The light was soft and warm, and it illuminated the park’s trees and foliage beautifully. We began by exploring the park’s many walking paths, taking in the serene surroundings and capturing some candid moments along the way. Julia and Jonathan were so natural in front of the camera, and their love for each other was evident in every shot.

Jackson Springs bring out all the stops.

Finally, we made our way down to the park’s creek. The water was crystal clear, and the light danced off its surface, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. Julia and Jonathan walked hand in hand along the creek’s edge, pausing to steal a kiss or share a laugh. It was a beautiful moment, and one that I was thrilled to capture.

Up next the last location of the engagement session.

Julia and Jonathan’s engagement session at Jackson Springs Park was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. The natural beauty of the park provided the perfect backdrop for capturing their love. I was thrilled to be a part of it all. Lastly, we popped over to my neighbor’s garden to snag a few photos in the garden. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two lovebirds. I wish them all the best in their journey together. See ya’ll in June!

xoxo,

Annie T.

Get ready to drool over this engagement session under the Japanese Magnolias in downtown Macon. You won’t just gaze at the scenery but fall in love with the couple and gasp at the optical illusion created by a Macon photographer you know and love. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fall in love in the Magnolias.

Maddie and Caleb’s Japanese Magnolia engagement session is something to obsess over. The magnolias were in full bloom. It was the perfect backdrop for this swooning couple. When I say swooning, I 100% mean these two are smitten with each other. I caught Maddie and Caleb sneaking kisses, giggling, and whispering “I love you” to each other during our entire photo shoot.

Cuddles on Coleman Hill

Once we captured every drop of magic from the Japanese Magnolias, we headed to Coleman Hill to recreate the couple’s first day. What a fun first date it was. They watched the Goonies on top of Coleman Hill in Macon, Georgia, and the rest is history.

An Optical Illusion

We ended our session at the most peculiar place. Maddie requested a field of tall grass for some dreamy sunset pictures. Of course, I wanted to make my client’s vision come to life, like all good photographers.

However, where would I find such a field in Macon, Ga?

Borrowed the phrase “grab a kiss” from my girl Jenny. Check her out friends!

That’s where I had to get creative. I knew there was a patch of tall grass in the industrial area section of Macon, so off we went. With my cameras in hand and the help of my go-with-the-flow couple, we capture the most magical images! You would never guess that we weren’t actually in a large field but a patch of grass.

Maddie and Caleb, thank you for letting me be a part of your story. I adored our Japanese Magnolia engagement session. Keep shamelessly whispering you love each other-it is precious.

Xoxo,

Annie T.

The Drury’s spring wedding was a mix of modern, chic, and traditional. Their reception was at Fall Line Station, and the ceremony took place at the lovely First Presbyterian Church in downtown Macon, Georgia.

Macon Spring Wedding

Katherine’s dress was simple, elegant, and classic, so it deserved its moment in the spotlight- aka a bridal portrait session. Pro tip: book a package with a bridal session. We captured it separately at her beloved grandparent’s house. The team at Carrie’s Bridal crushed this sweet scoop neck dress. The mother of the bride and I agreed that our favorite design element was the adorable bow on the back.

Let’s talk details.

I adored photographing all her wedding day details. Allison Lucas designed the spring florals. I love how she added puffs of Macon by including the iconic Cherry Blossoms in her arrangements.

Look at those ladies; who wouldn’t want to be a part of that squad?

Katherine was surrounded by the gorgeous group of girls all day long. You could tell her bridal party was a group of lifelong friends. They did everything the best bridesmaids did to ensure it was the best day possible. My job is a dream because the bride radiates joy at every turn.

Let’s hear it for the boys!

Like I was saying, the ladies were stunning, all dressed in the perfect blue for spring, but, of course, we had to throw the spotlight on the dapper gentlemen that made up the other half of the wedding party. These groomsmen were debonaire and respectful, which always makes for a smooth sailing!

Now onto the ceremony…

I love all venues, but there is something so tender about getting married at your childhood church  First Presbyterian Church in Macon always makes for the most intimate weddings. The classic ceremony ended with a Trolley ride to the reception. You can’t beat a trip in the Macon Trolley.

After the newlyweds stole a little moment, we snagged a few family formals, and we were off to the reception. Of course, you have to arrive in style, so the couple used a Macon Trolley to transport the wedding party from the church to the reception. A trolley ride is always a treat.

Let’s head to the party!

Covering Fall Line Station with florals, a french fry bar, and of course, the rhythm and soul of every great wedding, a good band made it the perfect reception venue. The Grape Vine Band, a Macon favorite, created a whimsical atmosphere and a long night of moving and grooving. However, before the dance floor opened, there had to be a cake cutting. Check out that delicious cake by Mary Virginia Cakes

Our bride and groom spent the night dancing and mingling with the wedding guest. It was a dream to document such a special day. The couple’s grand exit took place under a shower of flower petals, and it was simply the perfect way to end a spring wedding.

Thank you both for letting me capture such a  time.

Xoxo,

Annie T.

Oh my goodness, I cannot get over fall minis. It has been one for the books. I pick Amerson Water Park because it is a great place for a family photographer to set up shop for the day. It is also a convenient place for my clients. I loved my time photographing over six clients.

Each family or couple brought their spunk and spice to this Macon, Georgia gem.

Thankfulness is a funny thing. If you break it down, even more, it is a feeling of appreciation someone feels in response to another’s act of kindness, gifts, or favors. ๐Ÿ

โค๏ธWords mean more when we break them down and marinate on them for a moment. โค๏ธ

Thankfulness is a feeling of appreciation based on another’s action. For example, many of us experience thankfulness when we round the corner at the Chick-fil-a drive-thru and spy a white bag that contains steaming waffle fries. Or you might experience thankfulness when someone recognizes a job well done. ๐Ÿฅฐ

I want to walk you through a few moments that made me really thankful this year.

Walking Down the Aisle

Over the last year, I have captured multiple weddings. The moment that always takes my breath away and reminds me why my aching feet matter is when the bride walks down the aisle. My heart burst with thankfulness at this time. I always crouch behind the bride and slip into the ceremony venue to capture the perfect shot. I never want to be a distraction, so I only walk up so close to the altar. Once the door is open, the crowd will stand, the groom will weep (if we want good pictures), and the bride will glide down the aisle. It is a magical moment that I treasure. Each time I’ve emerged from my crouched position, I exhale a sigh of relief because we made it to the ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป dang thang. Drinking in the moment, I am so thankful to be invited into such a special memory.ย

Fall Minis

Fall minis are another moment I treasure. They make me thankful for my job. I used to be embarrassed to run fall minis- it’s a pride thing. I thought mini-sessions were beneath “professionals.” That’s total malarkey, I tell youโ€ผ๏ธ This year gave me a new appreciation for fall minis- you all were busting down my door to get on my list. It is humbling to be requested for Holiday card photos. I am thankful, really, truly.

My Social Media Wizard aka Lauren

There are so many moments I’ve been thankful for Lauren. She is my Social Media Assistant. All the reels, all the sweet comments answered, and all the Instagram goodness make me real grateful. Having such a talented and capable Social Media Assistant has freed my brain to be more present with my clients and creative in other areas. Big fan of this gal!

Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference

Record scratch moment, right? Annie is thankful for a fruit and veggie conference; that’s a little off-brand.

Well, not really; last January, I was invited to speak about photography to farmers in the industry. It was a wonderful experience and reminded me of my love for sharing my craft. This moment gave me confidence in my knowledge of Photography.

Spring Minis

I wouldn’t say I like the winter. Like, can’t stand being cold and all the gray. Spring mins are my favorite because Macon is popping in the spring, especially the Japanese Magnolias. These moments make me thankful that spring is dawning.

My Friends

Finding a community of sweet friends is difficult. However, over the last year and a half, I’ve been in a squad like no other. It is a joy to have people to do life alongside. Moments with my friends help me come back refreshed to my editing cave. ** not all friends are pictured**

ELAINE

I am obsessed with her. That is the only explanation. Being a dog owner has forced me out of bed each morning with a leash in hand. Big fan of my furry companion, and the iconic show her name comes from. Every moment with her is the best.

My Family

My family grew a lot this year; We welcomed a new brother-in-law to the mixโ€”someone who, from the beginning, was an advocate for my business and loved my sis well. I got another nephew. The fam is growing, and I love it. Moments like beach trips, first birthdays, car rides and adventures I will treasure forever.

I am a photographer by trade. My catchphrase is I capture bright and authentic photos of life’s greatest moments. Moments that make us feel appreciated or loved are reasons to be thankful. My job is capturing those moments- how lucky am I?

Have you reflected over the last year?

What are moments you felt appreciated?

What are some gifts you didn’t know you were thankful for until just now?

xoxo,

Annie T.
