There’s a particular kind of glamour that lives at Dublin Country Club, manicured greens, golden light, and just enough old-world polish to make every guest feel like they’ve stepped onto a movie set. Gracie and Colton went all in on that old Hollywood energy for their wedding day, and let me tell you, these two have main-character chemistry.
Their Love Story
Gracie and Colton met at the St. Patrick’s Festival in downtown Dublin, introduced by mutual friends, and that was pretty much that. Colton’s got a 50-watt smile that lights up a room the second he walks in. Gracie’s got dark hair, killer baby blues, and a quiet elegance that’s impossible to miss. But their whole thing isn’t just how good they look together (though, wow). It’s how they fit. Gracie is grace, plain and simple, and Colton is her steady place to land you can catch it in the way he looks at her when he thinks nobody’s watching.
Their Wedding
Gracie and Colton said “I do” at Marie Baptist Church, surrounded by family and friends on a hot June day that Dublin, GA does so well. Gracie wore an A-line dress with a statement necklace of pearls from The White Magnolia, and Colton showed up in a crisp white tux. The heat only added to the glow, warm and a little hazy in the best way, exactly the light that makes portraits feel timeless. Every detail of the day came together seamlessly thanks to planner Wendy Moore Tiegs, right down to the blooms from Classic Florist & Home Decor, Gracie’s bouquet was honestly one of the most stunning arrangements I’ve ever photographed, all soft ivory roses tumbling into trailing greenery.
Their Reception
From there, everyone headed over to Dublin Country Club, styled by Don’s Tent Rentals, for the reception, and the club truly pulled out all the stops. Dinner was a pasta bar, and it was every bit as delicious as it sounds. Once dinner wrapped, Emerald Empire Band had the whole crowd on its feet, and a basket of tambourines kept every guest moving right along with them. Then came the plot twist: the getaway car didn’t start on the first try, so Colton and his dad rolled up their sleeves and got it running while everyone cheered them on. That’s the kind of unscripted moment I live for.

Let’s be honest a candlelit mansion, good wine, and a room full of people who actually like talking to each other is basically my love language. That’s exactly what I walked into photographing a Stay and Gather dinner at The Estate in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood this March.
Stay and Gather is the new company doing hospitality events right thoughtful, invite-only gatherings for the people who design and shape beautiful spaces for a living. Co-founded by Stacy Shoemaker Rauen and Keisha Byrd, the brand clearly understands that the best parties are the ones where you actually remember the conversations. For their Atlanta stop, they chose The Estate, a private 1797 mansion tucked behind its own gates on three wooded acres in Buckhead and the pairing was perfect.
As an Atlanta wedding and event photographer, I chase the same thing no matter who’s in front of my lens that moment someone forgets the camera’s there and just leans into the room. Between Stay and Gather’s format and The Estate’s old-money romance, this night gave me that all evening long.
The Concept Behind the Evening
Stay and Gather builds their dinners around one long shared table instead of rows of chairs, and a guest list small enough that everyone actually talks to everyone. This was one stop on their 2026 tour, which also swings through Los Angeles and New York, each one designed to feel like a total escape from the city outside it. At The Estate, that came easy private, gated, one event only for the night, with furnished salons and flickering fireplaces setting the mood before a single guest sat down.

Guests drifted through The Estate’s salons before dinner, drinks in hand, before everyone gathered at that one long, candlelit table — where Stay and Gather’s whole philosophy comes to life. The energy shifts from loose mingling to warm and connected in about the time it takes to
A Few Things I Think About When Photographing Nights Like This
I build in unstructured mingling time before anything formal starts, catch the curated details — table styling, conversation cards — while the room is still quiet, and try not to over-direct people. A night like this is about genuine connection, not stiff group shots, so I’d rather hang back and let the room do what it does naturally.

If there is one thing I have learned after photographing multiple Idle Hour Country Club weddings in Macon, Georgia, it is this: Idle Hour is a blank canvas. It does not impose a look or a style on your day. It gives you beautiful bones, extraordinary spaces, and a setting with enough range that two completely different couples can both walk away with galleries that feel entirely like them. That is rare, and it is exactly why Idle Hour keeps showing up at the top of my list of favorite middle Georgia wedding venues.
After all the Idle Hour weddings I have had the privilege of photographing, here are a few shots I never leave without. These are the frames that end up on gallery walls, the ones couples message me months later about, the ones that make this venue worth every bit of the investment.
Groom at Trotters
Trotters is where the guys gather before the ceremony, and that energy is completely worth documenting. A groom with a drink in hand, the people who have known him his whole life around him, right before one of the biggest moments of his day. These images feel completely different from everything else in the gallery, and grooms love them every single time.
The Spiral Staircase
The spiral staircase is the most architecturally distinctive portrait spot at Idle Hour and one of the best in all of middle Georgia. Shoot from below, from above, from the side to catch the full sweep of the curve. Think of it as a moment to sneak away and steal a kiss, how romantic.
The Golf Course at Golden Hour
Idle Hour’s golf course at golden hour is one of those middle Georgia wedding photography moments that stops people mid-scroll. Open sky, the green stretching out behind the couple, light doing things it simply cannot do indoors. I always ask if we can steal fifteen minutes out there and the answer is almost always yes. Getting married in the winter? No worries mid day and blue light on the golf course are the best. Leave the timeline planning up to me.
The Dance Floor
The Idle Hour dance floor is where the blank canvas becomes a full picture. The room fills up fast and it stays that way. A wide shot of everyone moving at once, the couple disappearing into the middle of it, the parents on the edge watching or right in the middle, these are the images that capture what the night actually felt like. You definitely will see me throwing down on the dance floor because I am not scared to show off some skills. Also, love a late night bit (ps: Krystal’s are my fave).
The Porch Exit Kiss Under the Twinkle Lights
The best for last. The covered porch at Idle Hour strung with twinkle lights is one of the most beautiful exit settings in Macon, and I have photographed a lot of exits. As the couple steps out into the night and steals one more kiss under all that soft light, with guests around them, it is genuinely magical every time. Whether you are using sparklers, flower petals or bubbles this is the spot for the exit photos. Whatever vision you bring to your Idle Hour wedding, this porch exit will close it perfectly.

There is something about a Mulberry United Methodist ceremony followed by a Blacksmith Shop reception that just works. The sanctuary gives you a classic, timeless start with tall windows, soft light, and a hush over the room right before the doors open. Then you step outside into warm brick and string lights for the party, and the whole day moves in one seamless breath. It is one of my favorite Macon wedding day combinations for exactly that reason.
Their Love Story
Madelyn and Blake’s story made this one even more special. They met years ago at Northway’s youth group, and what started as friendship slowly grew into something more. By the time their July wedding arrived, that history was written all over how easy they were with each other. It was a honor to capture the day. Check out a few of my favorites from their day. Their Ceremony + Reception
Madelyn got ready that morning in her childhood home, with hair and makeup done by Classic City Beauty. Starting the day surrounded by rooms she grew up in gave the whole morning an unhurried, personal feeling before the celebration even began.
Their palette carried that same soft, easy feeling through the whole day, with light blue and white set against warm brick and greenery. It is a combination that photographs beautifully in golden Georgia light and made for the perfect Southern summer wedding
One of the sweetest surprises of the day came from the flower girl, who was determined to have her own under the veil portrait with Madelyn. She marched right up, veil and all, completely certain this photo needed to happen, and it turned into one of my favorite images from the gallery.
MulberryUnited Methodist Church gave their ceremony a classic sanctuary feel, traditional and full of history. The jaw dropping stained glass window behind the altar caught the afternoon light beautifully as Madelyn walked down the aisle, and it is the kind of architectural detail that makes this Mulberry ceremony feel like its own reward.
From there we moved down the road to the Blacksmith Shop, where exposed brick and industrial warmth took over for the reception. Gussie Goods handled the cake, and it fit the day perfectly, simple and classic with just the right amount of sweetness. The real showstopper of the night was Madelyn’s dad, who broke out an honest to goodness breakdancing routine on the dance floor, and the whole room lost it.
Insider Tip: Let the Getaway Be Personal
My favorite detail of the whole day came at the very end. Instead of a typical exit, Blake and Madelyn left in his old high school truck, a sweet nod to how far back their story actually went. If you are planning your own Blacksmith Shop wedding, let the getaway be a place where something true to you shows up in the photos.
This wedding did not end there for me either. Over the following year, I got to photograph two of Madelyn’s bridesmaids for their own Macon weddings, a sweet ripple effect that happens more often than you would think.

Have you ever turned onto a road and felt your soul settle a little? That’s exactly how I feel every time I turn down that iconic Calvin Drive in Macon, Georgia. Pulling onto First Presbyterian Day School’s campus genuinely feels like coming home, and as a Macon senior photographer, I am always a little nostalgic when I get the chance to capture an FPD senior. Once a Viking, always a Viking. Sadie’s session was no exception, and it quickly became one of my favorites of the spring. Here is a look at some of my favorite moments from her day.
Sadie’s Senior Story
We spent the whole session gabbing about all the memories Sadie has made at FPD, from Friday night lights at George Johnson Stadium to giggling over her most iconic Spirit Week moments under the cherry blossom trees on campus. We even played a real-life game of Frogger to get that classic Calvin Drive shot, and it was worth every second of dodging traffic. Then we hopped up onto the front entrance sign for a few more iconic shots, because no FPD senior session is complete without it. Here are just a few of my favorite.
Sadie’s Signature Collection
Sadie’s Signature Collection session ended with the “what’s next” portraits, and this part always gets me a little sentimental. She slipped on her UGA jersey, and just like that, four years at FPD collided with everything ahead of her at UGA this fall studying interior design. That’s the whole heart of the Signature Collection: it’s not just senior portraits, it’s a walk back through four years of memories, right before a brand new chapter begins.

Katie and Maddox’s Georgian Hall wedding in Athens was such a joy to photograph. The light inside that venue is something I genuinely think about between sessions,warm, consistent, and completely flattering at every hour of the day. Between the classic architecture, the cohesive aesthetic, and the reception room reveal they do before guests come in, it is one of my favorite venues in the entire state. Here is a look at some of my favorite moments from their day.
Their Love Story
Katie and Maddox met at the University of Georgia, so choosing Athens for their wedding day felt less like a decision and more like the only natural option. A classic couple for the Classic City.
I first crossed paths with Katie during a marketing session, which meant by the time her wedding arrived we already had the shorthand it usually takes years to build. She trusted me to try things. I trusted her to be stunning. Both of us were right.
Their Ceremony
One of my favorite details of the whole day: their entire wedding party was family only — every sibling on both sides. No roommates, no college crew, just the people who have shared a table with them their whole lives. It made every getting-ready moment feel tender and completely genuine.
The ceremony was short and sweet, which left plenty of time for dancing and dancing they did. Brett Glenn Floral Design’s arrangements were everywhere and impossible to walk past without stopping. Classic City Confections brought a cake almost too beautiful to cut. Kris Plummer with Sound Insight Pro kept the floor packed all night, and the late-night tater-tot bar was a crowd surprise I will be recommending forever. The bubble exit to close it all out was pure magic soft, floating, and the perfect end to a summer evening in Athens.
